TEST - Sideways Any-Yarn Scarf or Shawlette

As crazy as work has been I somehow found time to take on a new knitting challenge.  The Wee Sandy TEST - Sideways Any-Yarn Scarf or Shawlette
 pattern is my first attempt at a test pattern.  Funny thing is that I thought I was a more disciplined knitter but I found myself inconsistent with my technique. 

I really like this pattern.  I'm using a pretty heavy weight but I like it.  Can't wait to see what it looks like with sock yarn.

This Is the Last Launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery

It is so interesting being a witness to cultural change; I remember the Space Shuttle's ealry flights.  Now it's antiquated, expensive and dangerous.

I also remember when the monster bookstores ran all of the mom & pop stores out of business.  This week, my favorite Borders began selling off everything.   A triumph for all independant book sellers, that is if they've survived all this time.  

So of course I looked at all of the knitting books but nothing caught my eye.   I remembered that I prefer to purchase patterns online.  Like music, I prefer to purchase my desired selection and not the entire album.  What a change.

Ha,  just found out that a co-worker has sheep and his wife spins fiber. 
Who knew? 
Perhaps the large sheep plushie in his cube was the giveaway.

To Knit or Not to Knit

That indeed is the question.  I did not knit one item last year.  Life was too stressful.  You would think that knitting would have brought me peace but I just didn't see it.

I am happy to say that I've already finished several item one of which is this lovely leaf scarf from Spud & Chloe.

New Year, New Site?

Wow,
what a crazy year.  New job & a new life of sorts.  The change has been good.

I'm trying out a new blog but I fear I won't post to it just like the last one.
